Narcolepsy??

Even though Max feels yucky at times. Life still goes on. I love how Max just conked out in the middle of Costco. Didn't even wake up when Molly spilled all of her sample foods on his head. =)

FAQ: Doctor Talk

WHAT DOES MAX HAVE? Max has a neuroblastoma (malignant tumor) of his right adrenal gland. With surgery the tumor was removed, but was found in his lymphnode, it is staged at IIb. Max has also been diagnosed with a syndrome called Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome (OMS).

WHAT IS OMS? OMS causes problems with coordination, walking, trembling; and causes rapid eye movement. OMS is thought to be triggered solely by neuroblastomas. The OMS is his body's immune system producing antibodies to combat the cancer and these antibodies are attacking the nervous system function and motor skills in his cerebellum.

HOW DOES IT GET FIXED? First surgery to remove the tumor. Then lots of medication, chemotherapy, PT/OT and speech therapy to help his motor skills. And prayer. :)
